Whats New?
This version of Cortex introduces support for a new, more efficient sync engine. As Cortex's use has grown the volume of data being created and visualised across the DHB has increased massively.
In Nov 2019 CDHB clinicians were creating about 11,000 notes and 3,000 comments against tasks per week. As of Jan 2021 this is now more than 37,000 notes and 8,000+ comments per week.
This increased use has put a strain on the sync engine which you'll probably have experienced at times, leading to longer delays until your device was up to date.
Previous versions of Cortex weren't particularly selective around the data they grabbed on each sync, this new version is now far more selective around only pulling the patient data that you personally need. So, if you have only a few watched patients or only 1 or 2 teams, sync is now lightning fast...and for those of you following lots of patients or teams, it is still a significantly better experience.
Once all devices are updated to 3.15.16, we'll begin progressively enabling new sync to devices. Once a device is switched to next gen sync for one user, all users of that device will see faster sync speeds. You can tell if a device is using next gen sync if the version number on login, or version number in Cortex's settings says Sync v3.0.
