Logging into Cortex
All clinicians should be able to log into Cortex using their network username and password or email and password.
If you are unable to log into Cortex and receive an error message that you have an invalid account, you will need to get in contact with your organisations IT helpdesk to help resolve.
Creating the Note
Once you're logged into Cortex you need to follow the patient.
- Tap on the manage my patients icon in the top right of the home panel
Search by NHI
- Enter full NHI into Search bar
- Patient should appear for selection
- Tap Green + button beside the patient
- Tap 'Done'
Search by Location
- Tap on Location
- All patients who are currently inpatients in that location will be displayed
- Tap to select the patients you wish to follow (a green tick will appear beside those selected)
- Tap the < Back arrow in the top left
- Tap 'Done'
Once you have the the patient listed in your patient list (left side of screen)
- Tap on the patient's name
- Tap the + sign at the bottom right of the right hand panel, and Tap 'Clinical Note'
- Select the note you wish to complete
- Complete the note. If useful, you can check observations and results while writing your note by using the bar chart icon at the top right corner
- Save as draft if you want to come back to edit it later, or Sign to finalise
The note is now immediately available to all Cortex users, and is viewable in the Cortex Tab web view
